sig re: "comparison of ibm fruit and dell fruit"

my discourse with mike had naught to do with any company as an investment...it was about the reality of business and how to execute the model of a dell, that harmony must be maintained with suppliers who may be a sector competitor. you become "beholding" to your vendors, so why shoot yourself in the foot with an aggressive "take no prisoners" marketing campaign. push come to shove dell would be more damaged in a toe to toe fight with ibm or hwp over the pc crown based on selling at a loss...why??? 81bil in revs...how much pc.

your numbers are great, but they are a snapshot of the past... how long will it take dell to grow to 80bil???? i wouldn't regret being talked into ibm as an investment, much as i wouldn't with dell...i'm sure you didn't lose a thing on ibm....

what the market is looking at is that dell "was" a better investment...the forward vision at the moment is to ibm and hwp...not my words or thoughts, but the reality of today's market...
