Xi is not a stupid leader, He has done well for China. Probably one of the few leaders in the world who has his country's interests at heart. Rather than trying to wave flags and do things which promotes his own personal popularity on the world stage. His popularity is secured by making proper and lasting decisions which do not counter China's strategic agenda in becoming a world power in trade and finance.

Sort of, but IMHO working towards *becoming* a world power in trade and finance when one is already there isn't as wise as it may seem, and has built in potential problems.
