Ted, the reason I noticed the snow was because I did a lot of work in Dupont, WA this week.

I still wonder whether Intel's biggest mistake was choosing Dupont as their Washington site (as opposed to, say, Redmond or Bellevue), but oh well.

Tenchusatsu,

The land prices in Dupont are half what they are in Bellevue and Redmond, traffic access is significantly better, and there is less competition with other employers for people. Furthermore, its a clear shot to Seatac Airport. Although I don't know the particulars of their deal, I think Intel probably did okay.

BTW I play blackjack at a casino not far from Dupont. You should let me know when you are coming up and maybe we can get together.

Re Intel acquisitions, I get bothered by the company they choose to buy...they always want to buy cheap and they get what they paid for. The latest is XIRC....a once state of the art company that in the past year was falling behind the curve. Is it the cheapness or are they not good evaluators of a company's technology? I don't pretend to be an evaluator of technology but I saw the change with XIRC and other Intel acquisitions in terms of slowing sales, weakening margins, and smaller profits.
