Your other verse is even less difficult to explain.. I know men use these verses to continue with their image of an impotent idol who can not save men unless they are 'willing' If that were true I would land in Hell I was not and still in many ways am not willing ( in my flesh ). Thanks be to God that I do not have that accursed so-called gift called FREE WILL !

1 Tim 1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
2 For kings,
and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

Will God in the end actually have "ALL MEN" be saved ??? We know that not everyone in the world will get saved but this verse could be strained to say that by some if they take the same approach of those who use it to say that GOD WANTS everyone that ever lived to be saved.

The verse plainly says the God will have all men saved

So I know we agree that that is not the case..

You have then decided that rather than saying God will you mean it like this:

Who wills to have all men to be saved ( but fails )

I say rather that the verse says this :

Who will have all kinds of men to be saved,

If you do not change something then God will save everyone so something must give for the scripture to make sense.

Why do I feel more justified in what I have done as compared to what you have done.

Simple... Look at the context...

prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks,be made for all men;
2 For kings, and for all that are in authority;

That is what Tim was talking about.. That we should pray for those who are over us. Unsaved Kings and masters etc. All kinds of men not just the poor and the downcast.

1 Corinthians 1:26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:

Not many BUT SOME.. Therefore we are called to pray for those who have authority over us because though not many of them are being saved by God yet God will have all KINDS of MEN to be SAVED !

I agree with what the verse says :

Who will have all men to be saved, Jew Gentile Rich Poor:

Galatians 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

We are saved according to an HOLY CALLING not based on what we are in the Flesh !
