Here's a prior press release.....
VANCOUVER, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE) -- Aug. 18, 1997 -- In a major upgrade to its broadband network infrastructure, Electric Lightwave Inc. (ELI) today announced the selection of Ascend Communications' CBX 500 switches to provide ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode) backbone support for various network services, as well as ATM-based services to ELI customers.
The three-year, multimillion dollar contract includes the purchase of seven ATM switches in 1997. These switches will be deployed in Seattle, Portland, Salt Lake City, Sacramento and Phoenix.
-----------------------------
If 7 switches are a multimillion dollar contract, how many is 150.
Maybe a $5 million dollar contract / 7 switches = 715,000 each?
$715,000 x 150 switches = $107,250,000?
How much is the B-STDX Multiservice Frame Relay switches worth?
How much is the CBX 500 ATM switches worth?

The NavisCore network management application supports mission-critical operations at service providers worldwide, including AT&T, US WEST, UUNET, Bell South, BT (British Telecom), Bell Atlantic, Segetel (France), Deutsche Telecom, PSInet, Pacific Bell, MCI, PTI, WorldCom, and MPT China.
Multiservice Element Manager
NavisCore is the industry's only fully distributed, multi-service element manager, handling IP, Frame Relay, ATM, and SMDS services from a single platform. Operators use one NMS to configure the end network, including service internetworking. All Ascend switches including the STDX 6000, B-STDX 8000/9000, and CBX 500 can be managed seamlessly through a common interface. In addition, support for the SA 100/600 broadband access products further extends the service configuration and management down to the CPE.
Standards-based Network Management
The NavisCore system makes use of the intelligence in the Ascend switches, accessing the network information via standards-based SNMP operations. NavisCore is completely integrated with the leading Hewlett-Packard OpenView software to allows the operator to create a graphical network map and use pull-down menus to diagnose and control network objects, identify switches, set up network parameters, and monitor network performance. The network topology gives the user a true representation of the network and real-time network status. Sybase is used for the underlying relational database. It stores and reports configuration information. Standards in all aspects of the management structure increase operator flexibility for access and control in today's multi-vendor environments.
