Of course, digital cameras will cost less for a given level of resolution. You have to weigh the cost advantages of waiting with the OTHER costs of NOT HAVING a digital camera. I'm not sorry that I paid about $250 more for my Nikon 950 a year ago than it would cost today. I saved a lot more than that not buying film for my conventional camera, which has lain idle since I got the Nikon.
