To S.Hamilton - I guess not everyone thinks CUBE'S earnings were such a shortfall as your wonderful broker friends predicted. I'm sure they ,like George Clinton, expected earnings to be about .35. Actually you sound a lot like George Clinton and I notice he hasn't been barking on here for awhile! Hmmmmmmmmm!

C-Cube Q1 A Pretty Picture

MILPITAS, Calif. -- C-Cube Microsystems, a market leader in digital video, presented Thursday a pretty picture of its financial status by reporting first-quarter earnings two pennies ahead of market estimates.
For the three months ended March 31, C-Cube reported sales of $94.1 million, up 38 percent from the $68.1 million reported in the first quarter of 1996 and down 1 percent from the $95.5 million reported in the fourth quarter of 1996.
Net income for the first quarter was $15.4 million, or 41 cents a share, up 13% on $13.6 million, or 38 cents a share, in the first quarter of 1996 and down 11% from $17.3 million, 45 cents a share, in the fourth quarter of 1996.
