Mark,
You've taken a pretty tough stance there.
I don't think we're kidding ourselves or discounting Trinidad. Speaking for myself, I am all too aware that Trinidad has the skills to take this fight. However, the point is......we have to make a pick, right? I pick Vargas by KO in the 3rd round. Would I make odds on that pick and take some action......maybe a little, but not a lot. I am aware that my pick goes counter to Vegas, and popular opinion (this board notwithstanding). If you forced me to make a $1,000 bet on the fight, I would probably pick a slightly different outcome. However, here, where nothing is on the line but pride, I'll take the risk.
Believe me, don't think I didn't know that everybody thought I was crazy last time when I predicted Lewis by decision after an incredibly dull fight. LPS5, back me up on this one.

BUT LOOK AT ME NOW, BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The sad part is, once again my chances of seeing tonight's main event are slim. Mrs. Quahog had already bought tickets to the Providence College v. University of Rhode Island basketball game for tonight, and here in Lil' Rhody, that game is a "must see," and the audience is a "who's who" of the local scene. So, hopefully I'll be home in time to spend $45 bucks (that's going to be $15 per round). Otherwise, I hope you and the rest of the dudes here will let me know whether Trinidad couldn't get up in the third, or whether the ref thought he just couldn't go on.
TIA

Quahog
