Let's have that conversation whenever you like, CR. Though I'm here on an irregular basis. One bottom line, however. I think the issues involved in speech codes are different from the kinds of harassments of speech people like Pipes do. The latter raise different issues, in my mind, and are much more serious.

On the pension benefits issue, I'm not certain what I said that could have given that impression. Perhaps I was kidding around with Bill about his and my dependence on SS as a way to rib him. Both my wife and I have the traditional academic TIAA-CREF benefits derived from a rather long time doing our gigs.
