Your points are well taken. It is very difficult to get a technical handle on low volume stocks, especially since volume is the second most important indicator.

When stocks like CALM and ROYL were trading at very low volume levels, I would not have considered trading them off of the technicals, not enough supply vs. demand to gauge.

In those examples, you'd have to go off of the fundamentals on their own. And, it works for those who understand the fundamentals.

Again, most charts I look at are ambiguous. I try to identify the ones that show the timing is right for a low risk entry with a high probability of succeeding in the time frame I choose at the time of the trade.

Enjoy the wedding.
