Ausdauer,

Welcome to the thread.

"I think that brand recognition is a big plus for CREAF. Has that been discussed here?"

Yes, it has. In fact, I personally (and I believe other long term CREAF'ers) believe that CREAF's brand recognition is their SINGE most important asset. Unfortunately, WS doesn't seem to want to pay a premium or even fair value for CREAF's dominance and brand awareness.

Re: compact flash vs. smartmedia

The fact that the industry has split between these two formats really sucks. My camera (Olympus D600L-great camera) uses SM. However, I could see myself buying another camera or device down the road which chooses to standardize on CF. Both have their unique qualities but it would have been so much nicer for the consumer if one would have emerged as the clear standard. Each has its big backers so I don't see that happening now. The current situation is worse than if VHS and Beta would, to this day, be equally popular.

Funny you should mention Sony. I have been saying that CREAF should try and convince Sony to buy them. I think CREAF along with their brand name in PC devices together with Sony's name and backing in the electronics/sound industry would be a great combination....especially as computing and home entertainment merge in the future.

Good luck,

FF
