You were real sharp in recognizing this point, and this is precisely why analysts (H&Q and Morgan Stanley) used the valuation model for software companies (such as Microsoft) to calculate RMBS's est. earnings and other financial specifics. No capital outlays; no depreciation either.

Undoubtedly there are folks out there who disagree with this premise.
