Greetings.

I just received an e-mail from a fellow ISP who spent over $100,000 on
a USR digital modem pool. Here's what he had to say:

--

Jared,

USR refunded the full purchase price on all ten units, as they could
never make the ISDN side work reliably. I do NOT recommend you buy
that product without thoroughly testing it. Pay special attention to
PPP ISDN. Over time, the ports become disabled and block the entire
hunt group.

That product set us back 6 months in development and damaged our
reputation with regards to reliability. USR even sent the product
engineers to our site and they couldn't fix them.

--

In other words, I seriously, *seriously* doubt we will be supporting
their proprietary X2 protocol.
