Boy, you must have jumped over a lot of intermediate steps to come to that conclusion, because it simply does not follow.

I thought we were all in agreement that democracy is the most effective opposition to authoritarian regimes because all parties have a voice.

I would posit that Sharia law is not really inconsistent with democracy, but the Mullahs say it is because they want temporal power as well as spiritual power. Well, of course they can't change the Koran by voting, so if the Koran requires something be done, that's that.

But I thought they were going to use Sharia law as the basis of family law only.
