WIND gets a license fee for each i960RP, regardless. However, Intel does not include IxWorks with other i960 architectures. Will users of those embedded processors switch to VxWorks because they are encouraged (forced) to use IxWorks for i960 RP development? It would seem likely. Don’t forget that i960RP developers also are provided an accompanying cd-rom containing WINDS development tools for trial.
