I gotta agree with CB. Yeah, she knows she's obese. Does she fully understand the health and social consequences of that? I doubt it. I don't think she wants to- -even now. It's easier to kill the messenger.

When my cardiologist, 6 years ago, told me that not only did I have cardiac artery disease, but another heart disease that had just then been discovered by a test he ordered and the two in combination were extremely dangerous, should I have screamed and yelled at him and demanded he lose his license? Or should I have listened to his recommendations for changes in lifestyle and implement them?

What would you have done?

I listened and took notes. The last series of tests, completed a few weeks ago, were the best ever. And the second condition that was discovered no longer exists, thanks to taking notes, following instructions, and a lot of dietary sacrifice and hard work.

Maybe that woman should have taken the same approach. She might not end up a sick, bitter old hag if she did.
