FWIW, two excerpts from H. Greensberg of TSC fame re a report just in from J. Joseph of SSB on Intel and the semis in general:

"This just in: Salomon Smith Barney's Jon Joseph, in his weekly voice mail to clients, is still skeptical that Intel can hit its guidance of negative 15% sequential growth. He believes that negative 20 to 25% revenue is were it will likely end up. Joseph, you may recall, got the ball rolling on chip stock downgrades when he turned neg on Intel and the group." hg

"In his report this morning, Jon Joseph wrote: "Average trough-to-trough price performance in the group over the last 30 years would suggest a bottom in the semiconductor group stocks early next fall,with about 13% downside risk from current levels." hg
