I think the "Chomsky Version Lite" tends to be in the rather prejudiced eye of the beholder. When someone says "and presents the US as essentially the sole source of evil" they appear to be talking literally- if it's simply hyperbole aimed at the opposition, than I guess that makes my point for me- since that was the point I was making. Thank you. I am sick and tired of the rhetoric on this board and others that paints the left as hating American, and bashing it constantly. The people I know on the left (and myself) disagree with some policies that are espoused by Americans, and some politicians that happen to be American, but we know the difference between transitory policies, and people in politics, and the country itself. While certain people may adore painting a whole spectrum of the political landscape as being in the "America Sux" terrain- such finger painting is thoughtless, and has all the sophistication of an elementary school playground name calling festival, and would be meaningless, if so many people did not buy into it without assessing it critically. That is what I mean.
