I for one am glad to see MO et. al tell congress to piss off. The reality is that congress wanted the Companies to collect the new "tax" in the form of the settlement because they did not want to be accused of raising taxes. The usual argument in opposition to sin tax proposed by the democrats that it is disproportionately imposed on the poor (and stupid). But if they can shift the collection burden onto the companies then they are not raising taxes, they are preventing our youth from being brainwashed by the tobacco companies. What B.S.
I am really happy to see the end of cartoon characters used in advertising. My kids (who are too smart to smoke) keep bugging me to buy them pink panther insulation and snoopy dog insurance.
BTW anyone hear Clintons response to the tobacco company pull out? "I will push this settlement through with or without them." How stupid. Maybe he should spend some time with Hillary.
IMHO
