With only DEC's Alpha as Ramtron's supporter, Rambus does not really have to worry about losing the possibility as the standard. And RMTR also states that if Rambus becomes the standard, they will license the technology from Rambus.

Having DEC support your product is almost like having your neighborhood store carry your merchandise. Having Intel using your product is like having Walmart and your neighborhood store stock the shelf with your merchandise... Big difference.
