FR: I really do not know, maybe in the gold mining business they use troy pounds of which there are 2.679 per kg not 2.204. Gosh, what kind of a ton is 2000 troy pounds? Worst what do you do with a long ton of troy pounds. I wonder if Pt ounces and Au ounces weigh the same. What a quagmire of measures, I say go metric for good, get off this English system of weight and measures, it is like spice.
