Craig, Thanks for your comments on the Nikon 990! They have given me pause, as you brought up several excellent points I had not seen in the several extensive reviews that I read. Interesting about the "straight line vs pixel placement." I have seen that in some digital pictures, but thought the higher resolution would resolve it." Good observation on your part. What did you mean "My earlier SLR would send out an IR image in such cases but the Coolpix seems to rely upon whatever light is already there."? Are you talking about some type of IR flash? Thanks again for your comments. I hope we will hear more after you have used it a while longer. Steve 667
