I've got no problem with this chap building it, and indeed he can make it as large as he likes... anyone who'd want to live there probably isn't the kind of person I'd find desirable company, either <g>

As for him making his own rules, I've thought of this. So long as the town is solely inhabited by those who have chosen to live there, fine. Everyone else can stay well away. And I suppose it is standard for children to live by their parents' rules, even if I don't like those rules.
But what when children hit 18? They may not agree, but what choice do they have? Fit or leave their hometown? And how well will they fit in when they do leave, given the strictures of their upbringing? I'm not convinced this is a good plan...
