Christine, christian missionaries had no interest in saving the souls of "savages". Their primary reason for converting the savages to christianity was so that the savages would willingly give their gold and silver to the church in order to buy a nice house in heaven. Hopefully, on the same street as Jesus or the blessed virgin. The cheap savages were told that they would be condemned to living in a flop house in the inner city for all eternity unless they gave more gold to buy a ranch style house in the suburbs where god lives. The missionaries saved the lives of millions of savages. If they had failed to get their gold, the soldiers would have killed them and taken it. Jim
