Wireless will not be cost effective for decades. You just can't beat the economies of scale with copper or fiber waveguides. Eventually wireless will win, but there's no physicist on this planet who knows how that will be done nor would understand if it were explained. "I'd be interested to know: - businesses passed by cable". We all would. ATHM won't tell. "- businesses in cable areas, but not passed by cable". ATHM would like to know this but no one knows. "- how much this overlaps with the metro markets the Winstar, Teligent and other LMDS players are targetting". A difficult question but I know cable is going to make life difficult for operators like these because of QoS. They always will have a problem with ghosts and rain until the new physics comes. The QoS angle is far more important to business. As with your previous questions, concerns, no one knows the answers. They will have to be discovered. All of the technologies we've mentioned have niche markets and all can be interrelated and mutually supportive. There won't be exclusive winners, but ATHM should be the major player.
