Dave,
You have cash left?
If I sell everything off.
Just got back from Sunny So Cal, avoided the blackouts. I was Beverly Hills adjacent - when they had their blackout yesterday. We had dinner there later that night. It was hilarious listening to all of the snoots complain about going without electricity for a stinking hour. "Do they KNOW who we are?" kind of crap. It was great.
Well, they are in for some more surprises this summer. I don't know if you read my post on this issue.....but the NW has an agreement with CA: CA is supposed to send their excess power north during the winter when we need it most and when our lakes and rivers are at their low point, and then in the summer, we send our excess power south to CA when they need it most.
Obviously, CA did not send power up to the NW this winter. And now its looking like we won't have any power to send them this summer. The drought up here has worsened....ironically, CA has gotten most of our normal rainfall...and now is shaping up to be the worst drought since 1976. Put more simply, our rainfall is 50% of normal and we are nearing the end of the rainy season.
Given this scenario, all hell may break out in CA this summer. The attitude of the BH adjacents is not surprising; its typical that they fiddle and complain while CA burns. Recently, they showed on the news here a S. CA politico stating how CA had cut back on energy consumption.....and then the Seattle news station panned on LA's buildings all lit up, trees sparkling with little lites and then, onto back-lit water fountains, moving from fountain to fountain until they got to the biggest one of all in front of a gov't bldg. It turned out the bldg. houses LA's Dept of Water and Power! Go figure!
In the meantime, people up here watch CA scenes like those shown on the news, and realize we are paying higher rates so that we can send power down to CA so that they can continue to light up their fountains and trees.
Like I said, things could get really ugly for those BH snoots this summer. <g>
