RhetOric- I like your Carbon theory.

I like it a lot- perhaps it is too devious, but I don't think so. It also keeps Rhapsody from bumping in to NT in the server arena for a while.

I don't think Rhapsody could compete on a marketing basis with NT in 1998 or 1999, but NT is a pain in the axe, and Microsoftware never seems to get smaller or less messy. Given time, NT may tick-off enough small webmasters that they demand something better. This would be my idea of Steve learning Bill's game- "The explorers get the arrows, the settlers get the land."

Bottom line- I think Jobs knows what he is doing.
