Ask again if I missed anything on the guns issue, Alex? You raise so many points in response that I am going to have to mull this over and read the web to see whose figures I even think are reliable. It is okay to be politically incorrect here at the Feelings thread, contrary to popular opinion, and I would agree that aside from the tragic accidental and crime-of-passion deaths that are made more prevalent by widespread gun availability, people need to be held accountable for the way the use them, just as automobiles can be lethal weapons. Unfortunately, you cannot take your children to school in a gun, or go for a drive down the coast in one, so I am not sure if the analogy holds up very well. What do you think, though, about the statistic that most guns used in crimes are STOLEN from legitimate owners? Would the rate of crimes where weapons are used perhaps go down if there were no guns in private ownership? Would that mean fewer gun victims?
