I agree they are strong in all markets -- but the markets are changing, becoming more competitive -- profits/vehicle are decreasing. BTW, forget China. I think the average hourly wage is about 10% of that of other countries. Very few people could afford the cars.

I'm losing confidence that Asia will rebound that soon.

These are necessary. But the REAL problem is over capacity -- which will only get worse for business, but better for consumers. There must be a balance somewhere...

In the case of the automobile industry, they had better management techniques -- which have been studied and are being applied by their competitors. When Japanese overseas companies improve their own business -- they end up improving their competitors too. The edge Japanese companies previously held is being eroded away.
