You have it quite wrong about developer reception.

I'm not talking about developer reception to MacOS X. I don't think that has sunk in yet.

Rather, I was pointing out the response to the whole Jobs presentation, including the 30-40 minutes at the beginning of it, before he had even talked about OS strategy. The audience was simply not enthusiastic.
