Is this important, Terrence?

If you don't want to accept Descartes' "proof" of existence, then why attempt to argue the point with people whom (1) you either don't believe are capable of thinking or (2) If you do believe we think, then you don't believe Descartes' "proof" of "I think, therefore I exist."

Of course, there is a danger in pinning too much faith in old Descartes' proof, as he demonstrated, when the bartender asked him if he wanted one more drink, for the road, and Descartes said, "I think not," and vanished.

So I wouldn't do you a big favor if I could come up with an elegant proof of your existence or mine. Put too much faith in it, say the wrong thing, and Poof!

I'd rather put my full faith in God and his Son Jesus, and leave the final proof of my existence to his discretion.

John
