In this case it does not show the real blood bath. When the NDP took office, there were 138 mines in BC, mostly small. After they left there were maybe 13. After 1980 the bloodbath continued. Eventually all the mine supply companies left BC with about 50,000 jobs.

nice.

Voting NDP is suicide, GC notwithstanding.

In Canada there were 300 mines in operation in 1979 and 100 in Ontario. Now there are about 80 operational in all of Canada. 38% of the foreign exchange of Canada came from mines, minerals and related products. 11% of the workforce worked in mining and metals in 1975. The homeless you see in the cities are due to the pin stripes suits we elected who talked out of two sides of their mouth. I have heard their whispers since 1968 about mining and how it is a sunset industry. Trudeau, Chretien, Peterson etc.... it was the secret communists green movement. the moved on the Potash Mines, the Uranium Mines, the nickel miners, with tax legislations, regulations, withdrawl of deductions, withdrawl of 3 year tax holiday. Only Muloroney brought in flow through. That was the only good thing, but it was wrong headed. It funded just exploration, not development. there was no mill money.
