Conservative senator demands to know why man linked to jihad group is allowed to live in Canada

It’s about time questions were asked. Kudos to Senator Leo Housakos for his question, which is not being given an adequate reply from the Liberal Government of Canada.

Canada, as well as other Western countries, as a matter of due diligence, should be conducting full investigations on foreign jihadist influences as a threat to national security. This influence is also increasingly being manifested in virulent antisemitism.

Other questions might be:

Why does Canada have a special secret visa program? It “allows certain ‘high-profile’ foreign nationals who would otherwise be barred from entering the country due to national security concerns, war crimes, human rights violations and organized crime to be granted special ‘public policy’ entry visas so long as it is in Canada’s ‘national interest.’”Why are groups and members linked to Hamas allowed to live in Canada? Or individuals tied to the Iranian regime? Why are exposed hate preachers not being investigated and charged?A fair answer to Senator Leo Housakos’ query is that a range of problematic Islamic individuals and groups are sheltered by the “Islamophobia” subterfuge, which is pushed by aggressive Islamic lobbies.

“Conservative senator demands to know why man linked to terrorist group is allowed to live in Canada”, by Bryan Passifiume, National Post, May 4, 2022:

OTTAWA — A Conservative senator grilled the governing Liberals Tuesday about why a man the Israelis say is a “high-ranking member” of a designated terrorist organization has been allowed to live in Vancouver.

Last week, The National Post’s Terry Glavin wrote about Khaled Barakat — a man described by Israeli intelligence services as an “active and senior member” of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), radical-left, Marxist-Leninist militants and the second-largest constituent arm of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO).

The PFLP are believed responsible for the deadly Nov. 18, 2014, Jerusalem synagogue attack that killed six worshippers including Toronto-born Rabbi Howie Rothman, who was in the midst of prayer when attacked from behind by a meat cleaver. He died after a year in a coma.

Barakat’s supporters describe the 55-year-old Barakat as a writer, Palestinian rights advocate, and target of official disinformation efforts by the Israeli to paint him as a terrorist.

But groups like B’nai Brith Canada have lobbied cabinet ministers and the Prime Minister’s Office as Barakat used Canada as his base to write articles and attend rallies around the world.

Questions on what, if any, action the government was taking weren’t immediately answered by officials this week.

A reply from the Prime Minister’s Office on Monday contained no acknowledgement or answers to the National Post’s inquires, instead forwarding the questions to the press secretaries of the Public Safety and Global Affairs ministers. Neither replied by Tuesday’s press time.

A separate inquiry to the office of Public Safety Minister Marco Mendicino was redirected to the Canada Border Security Agency, who on Tuesday declined comment due to privacy concerns….
