Amigo, am well aware of that history even if younger then. The sordid part of Iran/Contra imo was the CIA pumping cocaine into the USA inner cities, an op likely sanctioned by then VP George Bush Sr., and former CIA director himself. That's just diabolical.

WRT our and or Israeli backdoor cooperation with Iranian higher ups, my understanding is we trained their spy agency when the Shah was still in place and when the Ayatollah and his gang of Mullahs took over they left that spy agency intact, doing whatever it is they do. To that extent would have to guess we've always remained open in talks. Even back then Team Reagan negotiating back door for the release of the hostages, etc.
