I'm sure that there are threads where the right to ban posters is abused. Since we've been mentioning the Microcap Kitchen, it is worth mentioning that there have been only 17 bans there in the 7 years since it became a moderated board, which indicates clearly that the ban has not been abused. Also, I can think of one specific poster who may be the most obnoxious person on both SI and IHub, who shows up periodically and makes nasty comments to those who don't like his pet cult stock -- and, surprisingly, he has NOT been banned.

If a board is running smoothly, why mess with it? But of course, if necessary, the Kitchen WILL find another home.
