We'd better start spending it on worthwhile causes, like turning the complaints about homelessness into complaints about mandatory socialized housing for street people.

First thing they (CA) could do is drastically lower fuel taxes, which are dis proportionally hammering the working poor.

As for the "homeless", the solution (which nobody will admit to) is to:

1) Reopen old and build more loony asylums for the certifiable nut cases (plenty of them).

2) Built more jails and toss in the criminals (also plenty of them) and throw away the key.

3) And finally, for the minority of homeless who are not criminals or nuts, yes, provide them with adequate shelter and resources to help them get back on their feet.

Clean up the tents, garbage, needles and shit on the sidewalks and give these people these three options. Either the loony farm, the slammer or available shelters. No other options. Period..
