Hope you didn't show that lame pad you bought!
Didn't even bring that POS. Couldn't find space for it in my carryon and I refuse to travel with checked luggage. Went with the lovely, cheap, killer refurb 13" MBP and my T-Mobile - phone only plan - iPhone. Most of the time I used the iPhone cause WiFi was free so why bother with the MBP, until it was time to put it through its lovely paces, at the end of each night, Pilsner Urquell in hand, downloading and editing the 10+k images my heavenly cameras recorded.

On the plane ride back, I edited the last day's take and watched one and a half movies on the MBP, and still had hours of battery time left.

Life is good, with a bite of sweet Apple. One a day keeps the doctor away. :-)
