Idolatry? I don't think so. Call it concurrence, and respect. Terrence may be right in his statement that only property owners should vote. I have not concerned myself with the question. I am a property owner and I do not intend to vote. I have in the past, when I was not a property owner, and it made no difference, so I have abandoned it.
There are much bigger issues at stake, and these are the ones on which I agree with Terrence. Other issues on which we would likely have different points of view, such as the environment, we have not even discussed. Why? Because it is more important to get people to think clearly, at a fundamental level. The environment is a case in point, where there is much wishful and misguided thinking. Oil companies, oil spills, the Alaska pipeline, the Gulf War, are bad right? But everyone still hops in their car everyday.
But most of all, we both value independence. It is one thing to profess it, another to demonstrate it.
