It does to the extent that if the payer (the insurance company) has less money to spend then the vendors (the providers) will figure a way to cut cost to continue in business. But never said that was the end solution... just a part of it.

I have wondered along the same lines...the problem is that if best of breed medicine is not regulated, then providers are likely to "practice and charge" at will. I am coming to the conclusion that we need regulation of medicine...unfortunately this too has been politicized, and there we are, back to an every man for himself approach with some minor improvements.

I agree with what you wrote...this bill, if it passes, is a beach head.
