For chrissakes. We are what, a bit past two days when people first started to realize the magnitude of the problem?

Everyone seems to think that the Feds have the magic bullet, the easy answer and solution. Yes, things could have moved more quickly on the federal level, but where the hell was state and local government? AWOL, from what I can see.

I'd ask some of the military types on the thread, how long does it take to mobilize a National Guard unit, to assemble the supplies necessary to support the mission and to transport it all, personnel and material, to a place where they can be deployed?

Again, we're what? 60 hours from when the scope of the flooding was beginning to be realized?
