It's more fun to play for the short term. If you just buy a stock and forget about it, it's nice to make lots of money as the solid company grows, but you don't get the exitement and challenge.
Anyway, I try to keep some (about half) of my portfolio in long term investments (with occastional trading). The other half is actively traded.
Who makes more money? It's hard to say. My core holdings are MSFT, INTC, NKE, and CSCO---all were magnificent performers last year, returning around 100% on the average. Of course, that pace of growth isn't sustainable. |
