I'm glad you posted that. IMHO the New Orleans disaster blame lies SQUARELY in the lap of the Mayor and the Govenor. Both have exhibited incredible lack of foresight and leadership. May I remind people that it was BUSH who finally called the Mayor and told him to order an immediate evacuation. May I remind people that it was the Mayor who has allowed FOR YEARS a very corrupt police system, who apparently HAD NO DISASTER PLAN though I bet $$ to donuts he scooped up plenty of homeland security money to PREPARE ONE. I know N. O. internally pretty well as my firm had an office there. IMHO that city is corrupt from top to bottom, no surprise to me what is happening.
Now, on to the Govenor, a dim wit if ever there was one. Her claim to fame to be elected is she's a democrat. Rather than take decisive action with the forces at her hand she has been WHINING to the federal govt from the very beginning. Contrast her efforts and statements to those of Haley Barbour, you can easily see the difference.
Finally, everyone with a BRAIN IN THEIR HEAD knows that the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT is not even ALLOWED to conduct LAW AND ORDER in a city without permission. Bush has not denied anyone anything if they ask for it and even gone out on the limb and began the process before the storm even arrived. To attack him is the height of hypocrisy. I am SICK of reading the IDIOT posts on this and other threads doing so. jdn
