As the associate producer of the movie, Woodstock, I got to see it all – and have been asked many times, “What makes Woodstock relevant today?”

“Feeding each other!” – Wavy Gravy’s exhortation – is one message that lives on, I think. So does the view of Tom Taggart, the Port-O-San Man, who had one son at Woodstock and a second in Vietnam; he had the ability and the willingness to practice tolerance of all views, though on the surface they may conflict. And don’t forget Max Yasgur, who defied his neighbors by renting his property to hippies because he thought everyone deserved a place where they could express themselves openly.
