Yes, he does. And that is what his job is today. He has been called the Comforter-in-Chief today. Things have been mobilized since at least Tuesday...it just takes time to coordinate everything that has to be done. For instance, food for millions doesn't grow on trees, in little packets, ready to pluck and send in trucks, after trucks are found.... We are all only human. I personally think that for the most part, at least so far, Americans have done an amazing job so far to help their fellow Americans.
I do think that we will all have to ask our local area Fire Departments, and Civil Defense groups, exactly what we should do to help, and where supplies should be stored, for disasters in our own local areas.
Food, water, medical and bedding supplies stored in houses that may be blown away, or flooded, or "earthquake'd," etc...and may be useless. Supplies in cars might be gone as well, depending on the situation.
So what do you propose doing? And what exactly should have been done by each person and agency, based now on your hindsight???? |
