New York--Nov 3--COMEX Dec silver futures tumbled to a 1-week low today and gold extended its losses from Monday to reach a nearly 2-month low, with both metals hit by largely technically-based fund selling. Undermining silver was news that Russia's largest state-owned bank has exported more than 3 tonnes of silver, and a large increase in COMEX stocks. Sentiment is also weaker in both metals amid continued gains in the stock market, which is encouraging buying in other assets, and the precious metals are no longer benefiting from safe haven flows.
