Apparently most Bitcoin users have not been reporting their gains on their tax returns when they sell in exchange for various currencies like US Dollars . . . forbes.com

The IRS for one will now receive their:
  1. taxpayer ID number,
  2. name,
  3. birth date,
  4. address,
  5. records of account activity including the amounts and names of counterparties to the transaction, and
  6. all periodic statements of account or invoices (or the equivalent).
