I don't think I'd use it (too many people I do want to read are likely to react to idiots, so I had better read the idiots, too), but I think there are those who would prefer ignore functionality.

I think the concern was with automatically limiting posts based on ignore... a cabal could conspire to ignore someone if that would damage him, etc. Better you quietly notice that someone is getting ignore flags, and check up.

An appropriate automatic thing might be to let someone know, perhaps when they are looking at their personal profile, that they are ignored by N people, without telling them who. Whether to show this to other people is rather less clear.
