Ray, Ray, Ray. What is the deal? You are pulling a Lindy. I asked a simple question, and you dance around it. This Question is not about right or left, but about right or wrong. Do you really think that posting ovbiously wrong propaganda helps your cause? There is slant, spin, and opinion, and then there is flat out lying. I will quote exactly what I am talking about: "The world is being menaced by Weapons of Mass Destruction in the hands of a government that is openly threatening and planning to use nuclear weapons in preemptive wars of aggression against others, including non-nuclear countries."
We have a policy that gives us the right to do preemtive strikes to stop other countries from developing WMD. We have a policy that says we will nuke anyone using WMD on us.
It is fair to question these policies, or to rail against them. When your posted article combines the two so that they can claim that we are going to nuke countries in preemptive strikes, that is flat out wrong. Worse, it weakens the Anti-war movement to make up such bullshit. What does the word credibility mean to you? Once you go 'tabloid', you are not taken seriously. "I was raped by E.T." might be interesting to read, but it ruins any chance to advance SETI. Hell, that quote sounds like something out of a Commie Speech. Throw in a few 'imperialist pigs' and is is. I am a child of the counter-culture, and did not vote for Bush. I wonder how we got from Osama to Saddam. I am critical of that Cotton Mather atty general we have. Reading that post turns me off, and that should not be what happens, rather it should entice me to join. The authors seem to care for their own rhetoric than the cause. THAT SUCKS.

I asked you if you thought the US would first strike with nuclear weapons. You answer "Perhaps your blind faith in the goodness of the American government needs some revision? In fact, the U.S. did issue a National Security Strategy Initiative which stated clearly that the U.S. govenment can now unilateraly decide to attack any nation on earth without provocation and destroy it."
That did not answer my question. It lindy's around it, avoiding any answer that might give up some debating high ground. Do you think we will EVER nuke any country without provocation? I know you don't. You like to be a wordsmith, but you do not believe it. A country that would do that would have put you in prison or in a mass grave for stating that opinion. How long would you (or I) last in one of Bush's axis of evil countries? What would happen to those protestors that tried to actually form a 'peoples inspection team' and march in the capitol of N. Korea or Iraq, or in any country that had a name with 'peoples' in it? When you post lame stuff like that, equating Bush with Saddam, you lose credibility. They are not in the same league. I am not defending the indefensible. This is not an all or nothing deal. Bush may very well 'suck' as you claim, he might be arrogant as you claim. The US might not have a great reason to attack Iraq. You yourself equate our policy "much more akin the mad aggression that Germany engaged in in the 1930's than in any former policy ever espoused by out government." Ray, it is not even within an order of magnitude. As far 'mental midgetry' goes, tell me Ray, do you think I am a mental midget? I will assume you were having fun with alliteration, instead of alienating someone who has never talked to you that way. You once PMed me saying how your sense of humor did not translate well. It still doesn't.
