You have to go through a line qualification process and there are no guarantees you'll get the service. My GTE DSL experience: (sounds like they ALL are the same) I got different answers from different people as to whether service was provided in my area. I'm not talking about just my home- I'm talking about my entire community (well over 500 residences). First they tell me yes based on my address, then someone else (residential DSL is handled by "business services") tells me I have to pull out a map and measure the distance myself. Turns out the distance wasnt even close. Noone in my "town" can receive DSL. Noone. But they didnt know that. You can imagine what happened when I asked if they ever would service my area. They had no clue. Eric
