<<Before everybody prematurly ejactulates over this deal there are
some facts many of you have not addressed.>>

Too late Steve, I have had THEM (eja......)all evening long while counting my eggs.

<<It is obvious that the LU-ROK consortium was near to securing the
industry standard protocol on 56k and will still continue to present a
very formidable competitor.>>

How could LU-ROK be near securing the industry standard when they have not even field-tested their products much less have them on the market? For all we know, ROK does not even have a working model of their 56K. Common sense tells me that the leader, and in this case the first one to successfully mass marketed their products, is the one that will have a strong influence on the establishment of an international standard. Conversely, latecomers will have no bargaining to dictate anything.

<<I admit to being short USRX (with puts) and surprised by this announcement>>

I am sure all shorts are. My sympathy to all, although not sincere.

<<IMHO......it is a merger of two troubled co.s.>>

On the contrary, I believe they are winners with promising and bright future. Again, let me go count my eggs since there are so many. I am afraid I am too excited I can't sleep while waiting for them eggs to hatch tomorrow morning.
